HELENITA VARGAS

Sofía Helena Vargas Marulanda , born on March 3, 1934 in Cali, Colombia, and died on February 7, 2011 was a Colombian pop singer known artistically as Helenita Vargas 

Biography:

•   It was the fourth child of the marriage of Eliezer and Susana Vargas Marulanda. It is said that a child was not a good student and learned to sing rather than read.

• His parents enrolled in boarding Mary Help College, run by the Salesian Sisters in Bogotá. There also unveiled his artistic vein when she went to sing at events of the institution, then dubbing himself Rosita Linares. Having lost years of study and taking the news of the death of his brother Albert, the young artist returned to Cali without completing the fourth year of high school.
